Dear all,
Our PHYC 581-Nanophotonics class is hosting a special lecture series on
Photonic Crystals, delivered by Dr. Stavroula Foteinopoulou
<http://www.ece.unm.edu/faculty-staff/research-faculty-profiles/stavroula-foteinopoulou.html>,
a pioneering expert in the field.
The lecture series is about 4 to 5 hours long, spread over two classes. It
is open to all interested students, postdocs, and faculty.
The first lecture will be held this Wednesday, Sep 4, 2:45 - 5:15p in CHTM
103. Free pizza will be provided.
The remainder of the lecture will be delivered Wednesday, Sep 11, same
time and place.
Having heard Dr. Foteinopoulou's lecture before, I can vouch that this is
an excellent introduction to photonic crystals, systematically covering
both theory and applications. I hope some of you can make it!
Best,
Victor
